Synopsis

Based on a short story by Remco Campert.

The door bell rings, but Erik doesn't feel like receiving any guests. He hides in the closet when he hears his neighbour opening the front door.

Background

This short film, 'The Visit' by Jos Stelling is the first 'Film Gift'. This is a new initiative by the Dutch Film Fund and the Dutch Film Festival to promote Dutch cinema. Each year another well established filmmaker is given the opportunity to make a 5 minute film. The Visit premiered at the opening night of the Dutch Film Festival in September 2010 and during the festival it was screened in most of the national theatres.
