Jos Stelling was a guest at the opening festivities of the Multiplex Cinema of Kiev (Ukraine) where one of the cinemas was named after him.

Jos Stelling was ‘patron’ of Cinedays (2003),  an international European Cinema project in London, Brussels and Rome.

In 2005 Jos Stelling celebrated his 60^th brithday in Yerevan (capital of Armenië), at the Golden Apricot Film Festival. He was a member of the jury together with among others filmmaker Atom Eoyan and he was guest of honour. His birthday was celebrated in a grand atter in the house of artist and filmmaker Sergei Paradjanov.  Stelling received an medal of honour of the city of Yerevan for his structural contribution to cinema.
